'Owen Wilson was 'happy' days before suicide attempt,' former girlfriend

Owen Wilson's former girlfriend has revealed that the actor seemed a 'happy man' just a month before he attempted suicide.

Fashion designer Stephanie Conley, who dated Wilson in 2005, met him in Italy, when the actor was on a vacation in July. Conley suggested that something might 'have gone very wrong in his personal life' for him to take such an extreme step.

"I saw him very recently and he was on vacation and having such an amazing time," the Mirror quoted Conley, as saying.

"Obviously something has gone very wrong in his personal life since then but he was so happy - I just don't understand," she added.

Conley also said that she is devastated by the 'Wedding Crashers' star's attempt to end his life.

Wilson is recuperating at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, after slashing his wrists and drug overdose.

Wilson's ex says she's 'totally shocked'

Owen Wilson's ex-girlfriend Stephanie Conley has said that she was "totally shocked" to learn about the star's recent troubles.
The Australian fashion designer dated the actor in 2005 and said that she remained friendly with him after their break-up.
Wilson was admitted to hospital last Sunday after emergency services attended his home. Media reports later claimed that the actor had attempted to commit suicide.
Speaking to Sydney Daily Telegraph, Conley said: "I am terribly upset about the situation. I was totally shocked to hear about it and I'm still struggling to understand what went wrong."
Conley said that she had met up with Wilson about a month ago while he was on a holiday.
"He was having such an amazing time. Obviously, something has gone very wrong in his personal life since then but he was so happy - I just don't understand," she said.
