Reports by entertainment news outlets confirm that actor Owen Wilson attempted suicide on August 26th. Wilson Quits Film To Recover
Owen Wilson has pulled out of his latest movie project in an attempt to recover from an alleged suicide bid.
Wilson was reportedly found by his brother Andrew at his home in Santa Monica, Calif., on Sunday, with sources claiming he cut his wrists and took a number of pills.
He is currently recovering in Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
According to Variety magazine, Wilson has pulled out of the comedy "Tropic Thunder," which he was due to begin shooting with actor pal Ben Stiller in two weeks time.
A source tells the magazine, "Ben and Owen have made eight movies together. And he can't wait to work with Owen again. It's just not going to be on this film."
It is not known if Wilson will be replaced or if his role will be dropped from the script.
A spokesman for DreamWorks and Wilson were unavailable for comment.

"Tropic Thunder", la nueva comedia dirigida por Ben Stiller para DreamWorks cuenta en su reparto con Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Brandon Jackson, Steve Coogan, Nick Nolte, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Jay Baruchel, Matt Levin, Andrea De Oliveira y el propio Stiller (más un supuesto cameo de Tom Cruise).
El film, que comenzó a rodarse hace seis semanas en Hawaii y Los Ángeles, narra los avatares de un grupo de actores que se entrenan para participar en una película bélica.
